A basket boat tour with us starts from $10 per person, with a minimum of 2 people per booking. Basket boats (thuyền thúng) are round boats woven from bamboo and coated in tar. You ride one through the water coconut forest in Cam Thanh Village, about 5 km from Hoi An Ancient Town.
We offer two tours that include a basket boat:
Your boatman paddles through narrow green waterways in the coconut forest, then performs the famous spinning dance. On the combo tour you can try spinning yourself for an optional 100,000 VND per person, paid directly to the boatman.
Cam Thanh Village is about 5 km from the Ancient Town. On the combo tour, take a taxi, Grab or motorbike, and contact us after booking for the exact meeting point. On the $40 tour, the shuttle leaves from the Ancient Town meeting point and takes about 15 minutes.
You may get lightly splashed, especially during the spinning. Wear clothes you don't mind getting damp and shoes or sandals that can get wet, and keep your phone in a pocket or dry bag.
The boat sits low and stable in calm, shallow water, and everyone wears a life vest. Let us know in advance about guests with limited mobility so the boatman can take extra care.
