Overview
Combine two of Hoi An's most beloved experiences in one afternoon. First, visit a traditional lantern workshop where a local artisan teaches you to craft your own silk and paper lantern โ you'll choose your colours, fold the bamboo frame, and attach the silk panels. Then, as the sun sets, board a decorated lantern boat and float peacefully on the Thu Bon River, releasing the flower lanterns you were given as offerings for good luck and prosperity.

Common Questions
Do I need artistic skills to make a lantern?
Not at all! Our instructor guides you through every single step, from bending the bamboo frame to attaching the silk panels. It's designed to be achievable and enjoyable for everyone.
Can children participate in the lantern making?
Yes! Children aged 5 and above can take part in the workshop with some parental guidance. Younger children are welcome to watch and join the boat ride.
What happens if it rains?
The lantern-making workshop is indoors and runs regardless of weather. The boat trip may be shortened in heavy rain, and a partial refund will be offered if that occurs. Light rain on the river is quite magical!
